Lunch & Learn

Lunch & Learn is a professional development program focused on building a peer network among those who work directly with students every day. It operates using a cohort approach, meaning the same group of people will meet throughout the year to discuss common challenges and build relationships with one another. Angela Whitlow manages the program and serves as the program facilitator.

Lunch & Learn is designed for nonprofit youth service organization staff who:

Work directly with teens and young adults in a school or community setting with some college access/success component to work,
Have 3 years or less of professional experience in the field,
Are still building a professional peer network,
Have an interest in learning how to apply best practices to day-to-day work, and
Are looking for tangible strategies and tactics.

The program is offered free of charge thanks to support from The Laclede Group Foundation.

Registration for Lunch & Learn is full for the 2012-13 year. Remaining sessions will be held at Boys & Girls Club (formerly Herbert Hoover).

Participants commit to attending all sessions:

October 2: Getting to Know Each Other
October 23: Family Engagement
November 27: Self-Efficacy/Resilience
February 26: College and Career Readiness
April 2: Transition from 12^th to 13^th Grade
